Due to time contraints I'm trying to maximize my leave. I wonder if I can take my PTDY after my report date through the gaining installation? I did not get PTDY authorized already through my loosing unit. Can I get PTDY on the back end of a PCS?2019-02-08T16:49:42-05:00CPL Private RallyPoint Member4352000<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm PCSing to a new installation conus to conus on a rapid turn around due to contract renegotiation. It will be up to their discretion.Response by LTC Kevin B. made Feb 8 at 2019 5:25 PM2019-02-08T17:25:26-05:002019-02-08T17:25:26-05:00SGT Jim Ramge, MBA4352841<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would call the gaining unit and explain your situation before you depart, once arrive and sign-in, you are at their disposal as previously mentioned!Response by SGT Jim Ramge, MBA made Feb 8 at 2019 11:34 PM2019-02-08T23:34:12-05:002019-02-08T23:34:12-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member4354294<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes, on a PCS Move you can be authorized up to 10 days Permissive TDY when reporting to a new unit. You won't receive travel payments or expenses during this time- but can use PTDY instead of leave at the new installation for house-hunting/moving or nearly anything PCS-related if the new Command approves & signs a new DA31.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 9 at 2019 3:43 PM2019-02-09T15:43:16-05:002019-02-09T15:43:16-05:00SSG Cory Bacon4355491<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>During my last PCS, my gaining unit required me to complete my initial inprocessing, certs and training with them before authorizing PTDY. If you have a little time, I'd make sure you have all your 350-1 certs printed, licenses, etc on hand. Then as you're inprocessing you can complete the process faster and potentially get PDTY approved quicker. Again, like others said, its up to the unit to approve, but its better to show up prepared and to give them a reason to approve it instead of being behind the 8 ball.Response by SSG Cory Bacon made Feb 10 at 2019 7:22 AM2019-02-10T07:22:00-05:002019-02-10T07:22:00-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member4355690<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes, you can.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 10 at 2019 8:38 AM2019-02-10T08:38:56-05:002019-02-10T08:38:56-05:002019-02-08T16:49:42-05:00
