I got an inguadinal hernia while at airborne hold and needed surgery to fix the damage. I recieved 30 day convaleseant leave and was able to do PT after 2 weeks and felt fully recovered by the end of my leave. But now back at airborne hold I have to stay an additional 60 days on a profile. I don’t need to waste 60 days just to recover when I can perform and do my physical activities just fine. Is there a way I can get rid of this and be able to ship to the next airborne class or ditch the airborne contract and go to a line unit?

Trust me, you don't want to be waiting around even longer when you reinjure yourself. Hernia injuries can leave you feeling like you're fine until you bear down a little too hard one day.

You will have to get a Dr., to review it and recommend you come off the profile. Be advised if you ditch the school, it may take a real long time to get it back!

You were given the 60 day for a reason based of the decision of a medical doctor. But yes, there are two ways to get rid of it. 1) See if the doctor that gave it will clear you and have it rescinded; 2) Wait til the 60 days is up.
