Can I get my teeth done while in BCT?

Hey everyone. I’ll be shipping out on May for BCT. Today while eating some apple, dental filling on the edge of my front tooth came off. I would love to get it done before shipping but yesterday my recruit told me I have to quarantine myself until I ship. And with the current situation, there’s probably no open dental clinics. Is it possible to get it in BCT?

You’ll get it in BCT, if it bothers you or causes pain/discomfort you will go to sick call. I’d highly suggest going to sick call during reception so you don’t miss training. If I’m not mistaken I believe you need a dental checkup while in reception anyways. Either way yes-you can get your tooth fixed if it’s causing pain, if not it can be done after you get to your first duty station..maybe AIT.

I've got a spot on a front tooth that's chipped, been filled twice, keeps coming out, so I stopped bothering. Hell I even lost a filling in a molar at jump school. I wouldn't worry about this much unless it's causing discomfort.

It would depend on the dentist’s professional opinion on how likely the chipped tooth is to cause you pain or interfere with your ability to eat.

If it's urgent and causes discomfort they will fix it at dental sick call in BCT. You'll have to wait till you get to your unit to do elective procedures like fixing chipped teeth.

If you can wait until you ship, do so. While in reception you'll be able to see a dentist. When i went through a Soldier had about six teeth pulled before shipping from reception to actual BCT.

The issue is...is it causing you pain right now? If so, the dental clinics consider that an emergency and will see you with all precautions taken. If not, just hang in there.

Ok, here comes the the practical, yet non Army Values answer.
If you can get it fixed prior to shipping, do it. Just keep that little fact to yourself.
You don't have to tell everyone everything.
There's going to be people on here that will say this is against Army values blah, blah, blah....
You're not in the Army yet, and you're about to understand common sense is tossed out the window.
If you can wait, I'd mention it at reception. They may or may not fix it for you.

I think you should inform your recruiter of has happened and get his/her advice.
