Can I be punished for taking an extra day of leave, if it was approved?

I was granted leave from the 19th of November, 2018 through the 26th of November, 2018. My first line signed it and the commander signed it. If everyone else is going back to work in five hours and I haven’t signed back in from leave yet. Can I be penalized?

Whatever the dates on your signed leave form state you are authorized, are the dates you are authorized. Authorization means allowed and granted. Unless your leave is revoked by the commander, those are your leave dates.

You can't be penalized for not "showing up to work" if you're on leave. And you're on leave, even if everyone else isn't. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you have not been recalled from leave you are not required to sign in until 23:59 on the last day of leave stated on your DA31.
Exception: Your leave has been granted at the discretion of your CO. He or she can if deemed neccessary, cancel, revoke, or curtail your leave at any time. This means that if you have been informed or could reasonably be expected to believe the CO has cancelled your leave you need to report in.

Just curious as how you think you might be penalized since your leave was approved, as everyone else mentioned. Has it happened before?

No, *unless* you have been ordered to return to duty, then it depends on when you were ordered to do so and reasonable travel time from place of leave.

Only way is if you were recalled and fail to show, then you’re awol.
