You may see also in the announcement:<br />"This job announcement is for employment as an Insert State Here Army National Guard Technician; a Federal/ Excepted Civil Service position. This is a dual-status technician job whereby you are required to maintain active membership in a National Guard unit/wing and are required to wear the military uniform at the workplace." <br /><br />Feel free to apply however you may have to switch components, It's a great opportunity in my opinion.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 11 at 2016 5:39 PM2016-01-11T17:39:49-05:002016-01-11T17:39:49-05:00SSG Lenzie Bailey1229246<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Is it an AGR position? I'm a Dual Status Technician, meaning that I'm a DA Civilian during the week making GS pay, and still a traditional M-Day Soldier on drill weekends. My MOS has to be compatible with my tech job, but that's not too difficult. I am in two entirely different units with separate UICs.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 11 at 2016 6:08 PM2016-01-11T18:08:39-05:002016-01-11T18:08:39-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member1229312<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>These guys have pretty much got it, but I'll throw my comment in.<br />You would have to look at the job posting and see what it says. Almost all AGR jobs are attached to a position in the Company that you work for. A Dual Status Technician position tequires membership in the Guard of the listed state (every one I've ever seen), but a Non-Dual Status Technician does not require military membership at all. Some jobs are State positions (Military Authority or listed as a state job) and are also open to civilians. It really depends on what the listing says. It normally tells on the first or second page, but may direct you toward the end for descriptions of the qualifications. I love being in the Guard, but have never been in the Reserve, so I wouldn't put switching completely out of your mind. Just talk to a local Guard recruiter and get your answers about how it affects your benefits and opportunities.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 11 at 2016 6:16 PM2016-01-11T18:16:17-05:002016-01-11T18:16:17-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member1229489<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You can apply for any civilian job if you meet the qualifications. If accepted and the job requires membership in the Guard, you would have to get a release from the Reserve. Most of them include people who are eligible to serve in the National Guard. The upshot is you could apply, but you would have to become a memes of the NG before you could start the job. We have people do it all the time, usually transferring between states, but the same rule would apply to an AR soldier.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 12 at 2016 6:32 AM2016-01-12T06:32:00-05:002016-01-12T06:32:00-05:002LT Earl Dean1230203<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Read The job description closely They normally spell out just who can and cannot apply for the job and what they want you to be able to do!
