Big test, off site lab that required travel ..tell your leadership in advance, give a call in the morning so we knew you were alive and ok, stop by after and show your face SGM Erik Marquez Fri, 24 Jun 2016 10:17:13 -0400 2016-06-24T10:17:13-04:00 Response by SGM Matthew Quick made Jun 25 at 2016 12:03 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/can-anyone-tell-me-more-about-the-college-reenlistment-program-i-e-reenlist-to-go-to-school-for-6-months?n=1663041&urlhash=1663041

The Education Incentive is a local policy (not a reenlistment option/program) normally for Soldiers who reenlist under Option 2 (Current Station Stabilization) for 3-6 years.

You're not "reenlisting to go to school for 6 months", but based on individual qualifications, you'll get a semester to focus on civilian education. Depending on course load, you may still be required to be at accountability formations, conduct PRT, and participate in other mandatory functions. This will not follow you to another duty station or unit. This is just an in-house policy. See your chain of command/no support channel for more information.

I have personally seen this work for some soldiers, but again, it is totally up to your commander.
