It increases the capability of the divisional command post to conduct simultaneous or extended missions. These organizations are at the forefront of the multi-component unit design and appear to be a valid lesson learned from the makeshift organizations that we have put together over the past decade or so. They are relatively new and have been standing up over the past year. The jury is still out on how successful they will be, but initial reports look good.
