This does not require contribution (Old Montgomery GI bill did), but 100% of benefit requires 36 months of active service. The active service can include mobilization as a reservist, but does not include initial training (boot camp or rating school does not count). Less than 36 months qualifies for prorated smaller amount. Depends on when you file..I also got Pell grants and loans that were forgiven due to beingdosabled.... if you're married...
