Depending on the agency you are with determines the length and requirements of the training. The Federal Bureau of Prisons academy is only three weeks long and is not that demanding, but other agencies have longer and more demanding academies. If you conceal carry, you will have to check your weapon with security at the admin building at the entrance to the facility. This will allow you to pick it up prior to going out for the weekend, or at night, depending on your training, but you are not permitted to have it on base. There are central dinning halls that are similar to contracted dining at other bases. If you do not have enough time to sit down, there is also a brown bag option, and I think you can even pick it up at breakfast. There is a coin laundry facility to do your laundry. There is a shuttle that picks up and drops off every 15 or 20 minutes and makes continuous runs around the base. It has a gym and a running track. If you stay in the new housing area there is a swimming pool. I am not sure what else to tell you about it. But if you have any other questions, feel free to message me.

Good luck!
