Can anyone suggest a good dive camera?

I'm currently using the Reefmaster Mini and Mini II with a wide angle lense, one strobe and one video light. I have a little over $1000.00 invested in it but looking for something better yet still easy to use.

I have had great success with reliability, ease of use and the quality of pictures with the G12. Current version is the G16 so it is significantly better.

What I will say is that if you are considering buying it, I'd maybe wait until the G17 comes out to either get the newest version or to get a G16 cheaper. Or you could buy a G15 now. Historically cannon has kept the new version very close to the same price and the older one has dropped significantly.

I have all ikelite accessories, including a video and a still strobe that I use together.

You may look at Nikon. I think they may make a decent camera for water pics.

GoPro cameras are awesome for video but not so good for still photos. Canon would be a good choice. I've gotten great results even from Canon's low end point-n-shoot type cameras and dive housings are usually easy to find.

I use the GoPro. Provides great pics at all recreation dive depths and can easily provide videos. Don't forget the protective dive case!

I have a Canon G16 and just bought the Fantasea housing for it. I am going to dive the Barrier Reef with it in a couple weeks - I will try to let you know how it works out. I don't know if it would be an improvement over your current system or not. It does take RAW photos which gives great post-processing capabilities.

the best bet would be a decent SLR with an under water housing, but you are looking at a hefty price tag if you go that route. For the money, GoPro can't be beat. I have used my Hero 3+ snorkeling a bunch and it has worked flawlessly
