Can anyone provide advice for a recent college graduate with a micro-biology degree looking to join the military?

Well for starters, I'd think you'd be looking to commission. That said, I'm sure there's TONS of uses for micro-biology in the military. Best bet maybe is to call an officer recruiter and see what's what. Thank you for choosing to serve us all.

What do you want to do? Stay within your degree? Try combat arms, combat support or service support? Wanna fly ... fixed wing or choppers? Really it all depends what you want to do.

Try to explain some more, really try to elaborate, if you can, as to your specific coursework, interests, object, and motivations, as well as hobbies. I'll try to send some stuff I think you'd find of interest, if I overwhelm, which I've been told on here, though well intentioned of course I freq do, just tell me, and I'll either try to lower the volume, or change the channel, whichever you'd prefer, I'd be most eager to hear more. Is it a Bach? Is it a master's? A PhD? Do you want further grad school? Do you have any possible clinical interests, also? If you'd care to chat, I'd be most willing, by all means, many thanks.

Definitely submit for this as a civil servant, you don't, I'm fairly certain, need to be active duty to submit for it, I've looked at their programs a long time, and I'm fairly certain, however, getting in would be hard, honest, though you def should still try, I should think....

I'd be quite surprised if USCG didn't have microbiology officers for oil spill control and marine safety, I know they use USPHS for their clinical support, I'd also think they could use a USPHS officer in such an R&D role, as well....
