It is non-taxable, and retirees must apply to their Branch of Service to receive it. <br />CRDP is a restoration of retired pay for retirees with service-connected disabilities that was lost due to the VA compensation offset. This means that an eligible retiree's retired pay will be fully restored (phase in completed as of 2014). CRDP is taxed in the same manner as your retired pay, and it is normally considered taxable income. No application is required. Eligible retirees receive CRDP automatically.<br />PTSD includes recurring memories or nightmares of an event, sleeplessness, loss of interest, and feelings of numbness, anger or irritability, or being constantly on guard, but there are many ways PTSD can impact your everyday life. PTSD is not necessarily related to combat situations and is a mental trauma as opposed to an injury.Response by SFC Ralph E Kelley made Jan 4 at 2022 6:02 PM2022-01-04T18:02:27-05:002022-01-04T18:02:27-05:00MSG David Lambert7459198<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Go through a service support organization or get an attorney to file the appeal application . Shouldn’t be this way but you have to fight VA for your compensation. Those adjudicating your claim act as if the money comes directly from their personal checking accounts .Response by MSG David Lambert made Jan 5 at 2022 1:04 PM2022-01-05T13:04:49-05:002022-01-05T13:04:49-05:00SGM Bill Frazer7460281<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Its a bitch to get CRSC- suggest getting Vet advocate- DAV, American Legion, etc. They are trained to give help.Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Jan 5 at 2022 11:55 PM2022-01-05T23:55:31-05:002022-01-05T23:55:31-05:00MSG William Wold7462046<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Keep fighting it, appeal, don't let the timeline slip away It will require new information that they don't already have. Read the CFR 38 outline. Follow the outline in your appeal. Better yet, get help from VFW, DAV etc or some advocate. Mine sent me to a shrink who did an eval, and it cost me $400. But it bumped me up to 50% plus the tinnitus. I get 60% and my retirement. Unfortunately my ex spouse gets 50% of my retirement so VA keeps the lights on.Response by MSG William Wold made Jan 6 at 2022 9:30 PM2022-01-06T21:30:06-05:002022-01-06T21:30:06-05:002022-01-04T16:29:28-05:00
