Can a veteran amputee be sexy?

Yes, it's a platitude, an over-used phrase, that all service members sign a blank check which they are prepared to redeem with their lives. But is there a higher price than life? Inasmuch as terrorists can't meet US armed forces head on in traditional combat, they resort to IEDs which have left broken and maimed bodies in their wake. Many of these veterans have fought valiantly to redeem their lives while others languish in psychological hell. Is this a way to help them?

I ran into the idea in an article on HuffPost. My brother-in-law sent me the link together with a suggestion that it might be a worthy topic on my VFW website. I agonized over it for about 15 minutes and decided that it was. Why? To be honest, the veterans photographed look sexier than I ever did even in my prime (or so my ex-wife tells me)

Any member of service, active or not can, and should feel attractive as an amputee. There is a whole other level there, a fine, brave, intelligent, upstanding person whom has been through more than the average person. Limb, or no limbs, a person is whole with their mind, self, and soul intact. I have always found a person attractive that has that."something different", an "edge", being special as an individual, and then possessing another quality, beauty that not all can experience at first, so feel special, you are, no matter what.
