Not validating doesn't mean you aren't getting looked at, it just means you didn't validate. If that was the case, no one with shoddy records would validate... In previous drawdowns any blemishes or other discriminators which separated a candidate for promotion from the pack were useful for board members to use to screen people from promotion.<br />Your buddy is hopefully talking to JAG already. They could steer him towards making a good decision and perhaps even represent him in the process or more likely help with the appeal. The biggest factor will probably be whether or not he is able to retire based on times served. I just think that it is unfair that they are doing this to him causing him and his family a medical hardship putting him on a hostile environment.
