Currently the SM is deployed and toward the end of deployment he is scheduled for SLC. Can the chain do an operational deferment to keep him from attending the course? I understand that toward the Army is putting emphasis on SMs to attend PME and PCS while deployed. I would say if the unit is fully manned and able to complete the mission he should not have to defer his course. Also would like info from people currently serving due to regs changing in the last few years. So does anyone know the reg for deferments also? Can a service member be deferred from PME while deployed?2019-11-21T13:37:58-05:00CW3 Private RallyPoint Member5260717<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So I am trying to get advice to a Soldier in my prior unit regarding PME while deployed. The Army recently released a new MILPER or ALARACT on the subject. While I didn't read the whole thing, I believe I remember it saying the deployment exemption was removed and that Soldiers MUST attend even when deployed.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 21 at 2019 1:53 PM2019-11-21T13:53:02-05:002019-11-21T13:53:02-05:002019-11-21T13:37:58-05:00
