It can definitely be equated to "Management." That said, depending on what billet you are filling, you may have Storage & Distribution "duties" which correlate with those of the Civilian Sector.

It won't be a perfect 1 for 1 translation, however... that doesn't mean you won't have the essential skills and knowledge for the job.

I'd generally lean towards no/maybe, but... it's all about the "Tailored Resume." If they were an NCOIC of an SSA , sure. If they were a Scout , not so much Response by LTC Jason Mackay made May 31 at 2015 10:33 PM 2015-05-31T22:33:58-04:00 2015-05-31T22:33:58-04:00 MSgt Aaron Brite 711372

Storage and Distribution Manager on the civilian side would likely require experience in managing the specific tasks of the activity on the military side. For a POL operation, experience in hazardous materials shipping requirements and documentation, petroleum storage methods and conditions, quality assurance methodology, inventory control, emergency and spill response, Spill control and countermeasures, and Storm water pollution prevention would be topics I would expect experience in for a POL manager.

If you can tick off most or all of these then go for that job! :)

Based on my time in hazardous material management and quality assurance in an air guard supply organization and civilian distribution operations and environmental management.
