Bradley Manning was convicted and sentenced to 35 years. Is the commutation order still valid if it names Chelsea Manning?

A military judge sentenced Pfc. Bradley Manning to 35 years in prison for providing more than 700,000 government files to WikiLeaks, a gigantic leak that lifted the veil on American military and diplomatic activities around the world.

RPers......If Former President Obama signed the order with the Name Chelsea Manning on it is it still a valid legal document....Manning may self Identify all he wants but he was convicted and is still legally Bradley Manning or if name was legally change....BLUF does the name on the document need to be the same as his legal name what ever that might be

I appreciate and agree with your sentiment, Staff, but I'm pretty sure this dog don't hunt. Unfortunately. No way someone lets POTUS make a mistake like that.

Pretty sure it sticks, legally changing your name doesn't change your legal history, Just like when people marry and take spouses last name. Their Driving record, Criminal Record and Credit History go with it.

Pffff! I handled the messages for Sgt Clayton Lonetree. What did He serve 7 Years? How about Lt Caley serve 3 years before he was Pardoned by Nixon? 3 Years!
