Are we surprised that one group wants to spend more money and threatens to block the Defense Spending bill and specifically military pay raises unless they get their way? Sound familiar?

Like Boehnerhasn't played politics and blocked everything that he could...politics is a slimy business...no matter what t party and that headline is misleading. They're blocking the whole Bill.

Seems like the quickest groups that are directly effected with budget cuts seem to be the elderly with fixed income Social Security cuts, and the military with cuts in training, pay and benefits. This also goes with retired there as well. Have you noticed that we do NOT take very good care with those who have done so much for the country, But God forbid, that we decide to cut welfare, financial assistance, unemployment or benefits to countries who openly hate us and burn our flags. You can tell a lot about a country by the way they treat their elderly.

What did Boehner attach to the bill that pissed off the Dems? The Repubs are famous for attaching stuff like defunding medicare or other things and then wonder why the bill dosent pass.

I am not surprised, and I bet there are several (many?) republicans who would quietly vote for a bill with no raise either. They mostly haven't served, they see a short-term gain (the ability to get this bill through), and long-term planning doesn't get a single brain cell. Long term, they get a hollow force with discipline problems...just like the last time they stopped raises.

Shouldn't we, as American's, be allowed to determine how our taxes are allocated towards thing like, o I dont know, politicians' salaries? Seems like we shouldnt elect people who like our money i ln their pockets instead of our teachers, soldiers, and other occupations that preserve our way of life? Just a thought I guess. Gotta buy the Senators wife a new Mercedes instead...

Boner and the republicans have blocked every vets bill that has come across the floor. Don't let the headline full you. Cutting the military budget will not hurt our nations defense. Give the soldiers a raise, but cut the contracts to the wasteful contractors. So much $$$ wasted in our nations military. I saw it first had while on active duty.
