Body building at the Died? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/body-building-at-the-died

I'm slotted to go to the Died soon. I was just curious about the facilities such as gym, track, and defac. Are the gyms setup for that kind of lifting/training? And is the defac serving somewhat healthy foods? Thanks in advance guys and gals! All of the facilities are top notch. There's even an Olympic sized swimming pool at the big gym, along with every known fitness regimen. MWR, USO, AAFES exchanges, movie theaters, CIF, decent chow, two beers a night, and no incoming rockets! The suck factor meter is low, but it does get awfully hot there, because after all, it's still the desert. Cheers! You'll probably be living in the CC trailers aka Coalition Compound. There are about 30 rooms per trailer, maybe 2 people per room. Wi-fi in all the trailers (you'll get the best connection in the hallway if you live further away from the box) and most people are all working different shifts, so try to be courteous to others. There are 3 DFACs total: BPC, Indy, and Manhattan. The Indy DFAC which is on the CC side is 24/7. They can make you scrambled/over-however you like your eggs on the grill for breakfast. I always got a toasted sandwhich for lunch. I'd reccommend getting to whatever DFAC is closest to your job early, as it gets really busy during peak hours (super long lines). The FOX is decent, we were up to 3 drinks a day when I was there. They have pool tables and TVs too. There's a smaller gym right by the Bra with a decent amount of workout stations. Again, gets busy during oeak hours so try to scope it out and figure out what works best with your work schedule! The BPC gym is one of the best in the Air Force...long walk from the CC side but we'll worth it. When I was last there they didn't have platforms for deads but that was 4 years ago...they probably do now. I personally went to BPC for leg and back days but did everything else at the CC gym that TSgt Private RallyPoint Member mentioned.

The DFACs can go one of two ways for you...it can be a great support to bulk or you could easily support a cut phase. Egg whites, veggies, lean protein...all available, but so are the fatty stuff and look out for the desserts.

Again... I've only stayed there a week or two at a time as a transient but always wish I could do just one 6 month stay to see where my gains would go. Hottest place I've ever been.
Be careful if you take on a running regimen. I had to do it at midnight. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 10 Dec 2015 12:16:03 -0500 2015-12-10T12:16:03-05:00 Response by MSgt John Carroll made Dec 10 at 2015 6:09 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/body-building-at-the-died?n=1166373&urlhash=1166373

I have several of my guys there right now and they lift all the time. It's pretty easy getting in shape if you're willing to sacrifice a couple hours of sleep (that's if you work more than 12 hrs a day...). The chow hall has mostly good food. They just got back chicken breasts so that's good on your part. They got rid of egg white since July due to the bird flu. The CC gym has all the necessary things like free weights and machines and the cardio building is about to get new equipment as well. The BPC gym is where it's at. It has different rooms with free weights, weight machines, cardio machines, swimming pool, racquetball rooms, and a GNC. There's also a 1/4 mile track in the CC side. Good luck on your gains (or losses if weight loss is in your plans!) SrA Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 16 Dec 2015 02:20:46 -0500 2015-12-16T02:20:46-05:00 2015-12-09T22:48:53-05:00
