Being a 91C can be frustrating at times especially when trying to make E6. I've been sitting at around 703 and still can't get promoted. 2014-01-10T18:55:39-05:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 36037 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Any other 91C Sgt(P)s share my frustration? But I don't understand or feel like it's fair. I honestly think it should be the same across the MOS's. Any opinions? We have to compete with are mos and there mos for E-6. There are not enough people are getting out in the higher positions. It&#39;s the trade off that goes with highly technical MOS&#39;s. Combat arms complain they don&#39;t have a job that translates into civilian skills and low density MOS&#39;s complain they can&#39;t get promoted. I was a 91C M-6 (LPN) in a M-6 slot and even though I was also qualified and had been a 91C at one point, I found out that it was easier to make SM if you were in such a slot. I think its because the cards were stacked against M-6s because many Senior NCOs never became M-6s and a little politics came in to play! You may wish to look at some shortage MOS’ and go after something more appealing. You have to keep an eye on retention points regarding grade and separation.
