Outside my post, not 12 miles away, several Servicemembers' vehicles parked at different apartment complexes were heavily vandalized overnight I have been at my large residential community complex for over a year, so some people here know my of my DoD employment. They've seen me drive to work and drive home in uniform, stopping at the office to check my mail. I thought that driving to post and back home in uniform - even when not stopping anywhere along the way, was safe enough. But apparently not. Nothing was stolen from my POV, just my windows were busted out and doors left open. 15 other vehicles in the parking lot all left alone. Police said I was targeted and was sent a message. Good news is I have insurance and can move. Bad news is the hefty deductible. But from now on, iI will be changing clothes in the morning and night on post. Also will remove ALL items on POV that indicate connection to DoD and any faith group. BE VIGILIANT! Said camera will catch the sorry son in action.<br />I work maintenance in an apartment complex and have seen several people using cameras in such a way. My daughter just had her car window busted out. She was so upset and convinced it was her ex. I told her to call the cops and get a report for the insurance ompany and it turns out they had 15 incidents in that area over night. I&#39;m sure the cops had a reason to say you were targeted but it could have just been random. You are right as always, keep the head on a swivel at all times. People seem to be a little more polite in right to carry states. In AZ, you never hear a horn. If you do, it is from a snow bird with Canadian plates. My neighbor is 70 and has a .44 colt revolver in an old western style holster. I sleep like a baby. I want to blend in. The only reason I have a base sticker is because some retard thinks we still need them. Everyone knows what to look for and where to find it on the vehicle. Any time I leave the base and I am in my POV, I am in civilians. There are no stickers or anything on my vehicle that says I have any affiliation or support to the military. To the rest of the world, I am just another person passing through town.
