Audiophiles (or pretty much anyone with noise cancelling headphones): Is it normal to hear a "squeal" when listening to music at low volumes? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/audiophiles-or-pretty-much-anyone-with-noise-cancelling-headphones-is-it-normal-to-hear-a-squeal-when-listening-to-music-at-low-volumes <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I bought a set of noise cancelling headphones last week with a gift card I received for Christmas. Overall I like them, but when listening to music, audiobooks, etc at low volume I notice a subtle squeal (more accurately it sounds a little like someone scratching a record) on the left side. It&#39;s pretty subtle, but it can get distracting at times. I thought maybe it was some type of feedback from the noise cancelling feature (it only makes that sound when that feature is activated), but I&#39;m not sure why it would only happen on one side. Does this sound normal? I know that the jack I plug into my computer can be touchy, and if it isn&#39;t perfectly plugged in it can cause some weird static through the headphones. What kind did you buy?
