Assigned to 2-17 Cav at Ft. Campbell (incoming QM Officer). What should I expect?

I just received my orders and it looks like I’ll be assigned to 2-17 Cav at Ft. Campbell as a QM 2LT. I’ll be graduating BOLC in FEB 2019. Does anyone have any information or is anyone there that could answer some questions for me?

Not familiar with the place, but my best advice is, work with your supply sergeants and supply personnel, look, listen and learn from them.

They recently returned from a deployment, there over in the 101 CAB with thier airfield being out a Saber instead of Campbell. I know a few people over there and I haven’t heard any bad news from them, being at Campbell they’ll want to send you to Air Assault school if you haven’t been already sir.

I’m currently at 2-17 CAV. Just a general overview. We returned from a deployment in Iraq last March. Since we’ve returned, we have had massive turnover. Almost every CPT in staff left to CCC, new S3, XO, CSM, SCO is changing Command sometime around Halloween. Every Troop Commander will be swapping out over the next 6 months. As a QM LT, you’ll most likely go to Echo Troop and serve as the 3/5 PL since that position has been vacant for a while now. A QM LT just took over the Maintenance Platoon so 3/5 is the only open position for a QM LT. Unless you get picked up by BDE (they are currently in Afghanistan) When are you expected to arrive (is FEB 19 still accurate or has that moved left or right?) What are your questions?
