Oh I remember it well. I once got spiral fractures of my pinky and ring fingers rushing the QB playing flag football. (Flag improperly tucked in, he cut left, I grabbed and fell right)

As a single soldier, I was never a fan of them. I saw the same people all day, everyday. For soldiers with families I think they're good because it gives the significant others an opportunity to meet and mingle and get involved in the organization.

Eh I've never had any really bad ones. I do recall as it got toward early afternoon you began to notice fewer and fewer people around. I think at least one I stayed all the way until the end and not much of the unit was left.

We had org day during my second deployment - it was a 15 month one. So two summers in a row had an org day. I worked night shift so didn't go to either.

On my last cruise I was the Admiral's driver in Lisbon. We went to a reception on a Chinese (Taiwan) with the admiral. Lot's of food and drinks and interesting folks. Happy to meet weapons types in that country's navy. Can't remember how we got back to our ship!
