As an Army Reservist, can I change my MOS at MEPS? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/as-an-army-reservist-can-i-change-my-mos-at-meps <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m met with my recruiter and picked out my MOS last Friday. It wasn&#39;t the job I wanted but my recruiter told me that when I go to MEPS I can change my MOS. Today he formed me that since I&#39;m going into the reserves, I will not be able change my MOS because I&#39;m joining the reserves. Can I just go to MEPS and say I don&#39;t want the job, go back to my recruiter and search for another job, THEN, go back to MEPS, to sign for that job?? Hope that makes sense. Let me know what ya&#39;ll think. Don’t let them steer you wrong. If MEPS won’t help you change it (which they should), then your plan is doable. “This is the only job we have available for you” will really quickly turn into “let’s see what we can do” if you make it clear you’re not enlisting into an MOS you don’t want. So therefore, yes you can change your MOS. 1LT Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 11 Dec 2019 00:01:01 -0500 2019-12-11T00:01:01-05:00 Response by SN Greg Wright made Dec 11 at 2019 12:15 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/as-an-army-reservist-can-i-change-my-mos-at-meps?n=5330971&urlhash=5330971 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Until you sign the contract and take the oath, you don&#39;t even have to SHOW UP at MEPS if you change your mind about enlisting. So you can certainly change your MOS. I&#39;d find another recruiter, or go back and tell that guy you&#39;re changing your mind, and if he doesn&#39;t help you, you&#39;ll find one that will. Since this will effect his quota, I can pretty much guarantee a magical turnaround. Once you&#39;re in the pipeline, it means the Army has a slot reserved for you in training, and a billet for you at your reserve unit. The Army has to plan that. That doesn&#39;t mean you can&#39;t change it, but it&#39;s not as simple as just showing up at MEPS and saying you want a different job. <br /><br />If I were you, I wouldn&#39;t go to MEPS at all until you got the job situation straightened out with your recruiter. I will say that as a former reservist, your job depends in large part on what unit you will go to. If you want a different job, it has to be one supported by your eventual unit. If it&#39;s not, you might have to investigate other units, and possibly other services. If so you are committed. If not you can request a new one; based on availability and geografical area. Remember, the MOS you want might be in a unit 500 mile away from where you live therefore it won’t be offered. I did some research and found out that GED applicants; which I am, that have at least 15 college credits are placed with the high school graduates. GED applicants AFQT score must 50 or higher, I scored a 32. My line scores are pretty good. My lowest was CL-94. So, if that is correct, I wouldn&#39;t have to enlist as a reservist I could go active duty. Is my information correct or am I readying it wrong?? I go to MEPS this Tuesday to enlist for active duty. Greatest thing is I got the job I want which is 15T.
