You will have to ETS first then try to come back on AD. More times than not, lose a stripe or two in the process.Response by SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 1 at 2015 12:23 AM2015-12-01T00:23:21-05:002015-12-01T00:23:21-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member1142026

You can do AGR tours with AC units. Number one is is already on "ad" and receiving all the benefits of an active duty soldier, since this is his first tour in AGR he must complete a good 20yrs of AFS (Active Federal Service) to retire with full benefits thereof. Now since he is promotable to E-7, HRC will not allow him to access into the rolls for active duty.
Correction:
(Once he gets orders for E7)Response by SFC A.M.
