SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member5707359<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a SSG P in a platoon sergeant role. I am coming up on my annual NCOER and was told I am going to be rated as a 4 level, but my senior rater will rate me against the other SSGs. I talked to a SGM, and he said I should be rated against the other PSGs. After looking in the regs all I could find is that as a promotable serving in a PSG role I should be rated at that level. But that is pretty vague considering I will be rated at the 4 level. I also found that I should be rated against my "contemporaries", but again that could technically be the other SSGs. Anyone know the answer to this? Thanks in advance! As a SSG(P) serving in a platoon sergeant role, who should I be rated against, other platoon sergeants or other SSGs?2020-03-27T08:29:37-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member5707359<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am a SSG P in a platoon sergeant role. Company ended up rating the four of us (P)s against each other in our own separate class. So we were rated separate from the non-P SSGs, but not rated with the SFCs.<br />Trust your CSM, when it comes to NCOERs - they are the final say. Though they don't know every single thing perfectly about an NCOER, they are the authority in the unit.Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 27 at 2020 8:54 AM2020-03-27T08:54:23-04:002020-03-27T08:54:23-04:00SGM Steve Wettstein5708556<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You should be competing with others that are being rated in the same duty position.Response by SGM Steve Wettstein made Mar 27 at 2020 1:36 PM2020-03-27T13:36:56-04:002020-03-27T13:36:56-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member5708916<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>623-3 chapter 2 I believe. I Recently just looked this up myself for this rating period. As a SSG/P serving in a 4 level position I’m rated as a SFC and Against SFCs. Also counts on rating profiles as SFCResponse by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 27 at 2020 3:18 PM2020-03-27T15:18:12-04:002020-03-27T15:18:12-04:00SFC Terry Wilcox5709350<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just make sure your present position shows up in your 201 file (or whatever it's called these days). I didn't - for a long time - and couldn't figure out why my promotions weren't faster... D-Uh... if they don't know you are skilled and performing a rank ahead - Then they are seeing a normal - standard - every day - do-nothing special - soldier. They'll be promoting the SQUEAKY WHEEL! instead of the better functioning wheel.Response by SFC Terry Wilcox made Mar 27 at 2020 6:08 PM2020-03-27T18:08:51-04:002020-03-27T18:08:51-04:00SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member5878010<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just to update everyone, my 1sg and I looked it up and finally found the right wording. A SSG (p) most definitely gets rated against other 7s. Thank you for your insight!Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made May 12 at 2020 12:00 AM2020-05-12T00:00:08-04:002020-05-12T00:00:08-04:002020-03-27T08:29:37-04:00
