As a SSG(P) serving in a platoon sergeant role, who should I be rated against, other platoon sergeants or other SSGs?

I am a SSG P in a platoon sergeant role. I am coming up on my annual NCOER and was told I am going to be rated as a 4 level, but my senior rater will rate me against the other SSGs. I talked to a SGM, and he said I should be rated against the other PSGs. After looking in the regs all I could find is that as a promotable serving in a PSG role I should be rated at that level. But that is pretty vague considering I will be rated at the 4 level. I also found that I should be rated against my "contemporaries", but again that could technically be the other SSGs. Anyone know the answer to this? Thanks in advance!

You should be rated as an SFC in a platoon sgt position, I ran into this same thing when I was (P). Company ended up rating the four of us (P)s against each other in our own separate class. So we were rated separate from the non-P SSGs, but not rated with the SFCs.
Trust your CSM, when it comes to NCOERs - they are the final say. Though they don't know every single thing perfectly about an NCOER, they are the authority in the unit.

You should be competing with others that are being rated in the same duty position.

623-3 chapter 2 I believe. I Recently just looked this up myself for this rating period. As a SSG/P serving in a 4 level position I’m rated as a SFC and Against SFCs. Also counts on rating profiles as SFC
