Or, at the very least, speak to the person about it to eliminate the problem at the lowest level. An investigation can be done internally or officially with the Division. Laws, rule, and regulations exist to help you decide on the correct course of action. We need to do our utmost to protect women from sexual harassment, especially since it is going up. So someone, possibly a victim, told you about a situation. You should encourage that person to report the situation. If you report it, you are reporting hearsay. There&#39;s nothing wrong with reporting it, but I doubt if there will be any action taken on hearsay. This is a hard situation that I have (unfortunately) been in before. Your best option here is to speak with the victim and strongly encourage them to report the situation. Explain that here are plenty of ways to report anonymously. Now if you think this situation is effecting the unit, or the morale/welfare of this person, then you can and should talk to your superiors about it, and seek their guidance. But don&#39;t be surprised if it all backfires on you in the end. Like I said these situations are hard.
