I love the job quite honestly. You have the ability to work on just about anything the army has because you have training and experience in brakes, hydraulics, diesel mechanics, electrical work in vehicles, etc. You end up with a lot of experience with the opportunity to test out and do really well on the civilian side. Will you be staying in the barracks with the rest of the IET soldiers? If you stay somewhere else it will be like going to school. In 2011 we did pt in the morning, went to chow, and then marched to buses to take us to the schooling area/compound. Spend all your time there until about 16-1700 if I remember correctly (I could be wrong on the time, but you get the idea.) Take buses back to the barracks and study/clean/do whatever the AIT Platoon Sergeants have you doing, or have free time. It was like that the whole time for me. As far as the mos itself? You learn systems such as electrical, diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, brakes, etc. Once you get to your unit you cross train for all the motorpool work. You won't "only" have 91B doing work on humvees and "only" 91L doing work on a dozer. But technically, a 91L can do a 91B's job, but a 91B can't do all of a 91L's job. 91L's are trained on systems like hydraulics and such that 91B's weren't trained on in AIT. At least that's what I was told in AIT, but I've never been to 91B AIT so I wouldn't know for sure. Hope this helps, and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
