SGT Private RallyPoint Member 4268193 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently a 74D and my window opens up in a couple of months. I wanted to become a 31B when I first joined the Army but there were no slots available. A friend of mine that is a MP told me that there are availabilities now. I wanted to know the chances that I will be able to reenlist for 31B if I ask for it? If I get it how long will AIT be? As a 74D, can I reenlist for 31B? 2019-01-08T04:49:54-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 4268193 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently a 74D and my window opens up in a couple of months. That will give you a solid place to start. Keep in mind that you can apply for packet MOSs regardless of your current MOS out call. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.armyreenlistment.com">http://www.armyreenlistment.com</a> provides easy access to current information regarding retention. <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/355/574/qrc/profile.gif?1546942782"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="http://www.armyreenlistment.com">ArmyReenlistment.com - Take Control of YOUR Career with our App, site, and social media...</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">ArmyReenlistment was created to educate Soldiers, Leaders and Army families on the Army&#39;s Retention Program (Reenlistment Options, incentives, retention bonuses, Reclassification In/Out Call, Career Counseling, etc), current MILPER Messages, special/broadening assignment opportunities, and the Soldier for Life (SFL) Program.</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> Response by SPC Joe Frailey made Jan 8 at 2019 5:20 AM 2019-01-08T05:20:11-05:00 2019-01-08T05:20:11-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 4268850 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Unless you are an initial term soldier (have never reenlisted before or served less than 180 days active duty after being in the guard or reserve) the answer currently is no IAW Reenlistment Opportunity Window Policy Message 19-02 (C2) . If you are an initial term soldier coming from a shortage MOS into a balanced MOS your career counselor would have to submit a request to HRC for a strength management decision. If you are reserve just find an 31b unit with open slots and see if they will double slot you and send you to reclass Response by SGT Dustin Taylor made Jan 10 at 2019 10:01 AM 2019-01-10T10:01:45-05:00 2019-01-10T10:01:45-05:00 2019-01-08T04:49:54-05:00
