Army Uniform Policy; Clarity on Authorized Boots

G1 Uniform Policy has posted the attached to the G1 Uniform page at http://www.armyg1.army.mil/hr/uniform/ in order to provide clarity on what boots are currently authorized for wear in concert with the specifications outlined in AR 670-1. CSM, I have always worn issued boots. They fit and work fine for me. But I will certainly be using this for a reference.

This is some great information. I don't know why this hasn't been put out better than what little has been spoken about it. Between my last unit and my current one, I haven't heard much of anything regarding these requirements. Besides the 'rough-side out' and the Rocky C4Ts being out of reg.

OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YES!!!!! I am so tired of going into a store wanting to get something that will work for me but worried that even after spending my money finding out that it is noncompliant. Case in point: I bought some of those Oakley gloves with the hard knuckles while I was deployed. The day after I found out it was shipped out (couldn't get a refund or stop it then), my LT told me it was no longer authorized. I was stuck with them.

I wonder how old this list is. I just purchased a pair of Belleville TR350 Khyber II. The Belleville website and the store I got them from both claim they are compliant. As far as I can tell, they are, but I wish I could get a definitive answer somewhere.

Best practice I have found is if you are in doubt, just get it though MCSS to be safe. In theory they will not have anything that is out of regulations, but there is the rear .0001% chance they might.

as long as a soldier can obtain proper fitting footwear through approved sources then there really isn't an issue, as for me, I HAD to wear Danner boots to get a proper fit, the terrible issue speedlace boots NEVER fit, very poor quality, now we have much better options. The Army should do more with private industry to get the best boots available, period.

Can someone tell me if the Interceptors Frontiers from Walmart are authorized or not I looked everywhere on the site they say they are. And my buddies unit he AGR and says the commander wears them but some E6 AGR in my unit says they aren't authorized without any reason.
