Arms dealing

So I understand how governments get arms, buying directly from the manufacture, I get how small groups gets arms like chechen rebels getting them from a small 3rd party dealer but how does groups like ISIS which has no legitimacy but need more then the average small dealer can get at one time, who do they buy from?

LCpl Mark Lefler People can own weapon in Iraq, not to mention that some might have connection to the Iraqi military. Iraq isn't exactly corruption free. They only need a band of people with arms to take over a small post or so. After that, they have the firepower to take on more weaponry. This is just my guess.

Keep in mind that AK's are essentially "farm equipment." An AK can be made out of a shovel if you have the know-how. You can actually look it up on the internet.

There are MILLIONS of them, just laying around for the taking, whether it is surplus from Soviet, Chinese, etc.

it just baffles me a bit how they get enough rounds to sustain combat operations.
