Aren't Secretary Clinton and Mr Trump the best reasons to vote Third Party this year? If so, why aren't you?

Metaphorically speaking, Trump is the crazy hot girl/boy friend most of us had at one time. In my case she was crazy hot but also bat sh** crazy. So there came a time when I had to pop smoke.

Clinton is the crazy hot girl/boy friend who just lied and cheated on you who you hoped you could change but never could so you had to pop smoke.
If you're tired of status quo why not vote 3rd Party?

Gary Johnson seems like the only rational and reasonable choice. Clinton is a pathological liar and a proven criminal... Trump is a narcissist and a complete wild card. The entire election is a slap in the face of America.. What a joke..

I was going to vote third party anyway. I might have voted Republican if they had stayed moderate, but ever since the Fake Tea Party took over and radicalized the GOP even worse than before, I can't stomach the thought of throwing another vote to them. The Libertarian Party is more closely aligned with my views now. Do I agree with everything Johnson stands for? No. But I believe he's the best shot to turn things around in the big chair. Especially if we could start filling more I's in Congressional seats. He's certainly far more qualified than either of the circus clowns.

Of all the candidates, Trump (the winner of about 14,000,000 voters) is the most acceptable. His major flaw is his penchant for grabbing the bait offered on every left wing hook. Other than his occasional hyperbolic statement, his issues are the same as most thinking Americans. When I review what is considered a platform of the third parties, I see populism to the max, sometimes referred to as pandering. Even at that, I have more in common with them than the left platform.

I'm sorry, but I just had to say that reading "Trump is the crazy hot girl", I just lost it and died laughing. The only thing I have to say about the 3rd party is that they don't get nearly enough press. I have nothing against 3rd party candidates except that they typically don't surface until pretty late in the election cycle so it's hard to get a good feel for them.

I'm still conflicted. Not about Hillary. Never vote for the criminal. Trump, maybe. Every time he's accused of something in the media I just wait and it proves false. Still, he needs a filter between the brain and the mouth. Johnson, maybe. Seems reasonable but also their are weird things to contend with. Most importantly, it doesn't matter how I vote. I live in California and it's already a foregone conclusion where our electoral college votes will be cast.

Those promoting Johnson should read his platform and speeches and be sure that is what you really want. Of course he has no more chance of getting elected than I do but do you really want wide open borders, legal drugs, all military brought back to the US, huge military budget and manpower cuts, higher taxes etc. Otherwise his beliefs pretty closely mirror Bernie. Even Johnson has said that he agrees with Bernie 75% of the time. Can't seem to make up his mind about guns since he has gone both ways on that.

I was/am a Bernie supporter. so, I cant very much vote for the DNC candidate that cheated her way in. Nor can I vote for the terrible choice the RNC has made, and man was this their year to pick a winner. so I am forced to vote third party in order to be ok with myself on Nov 9th, when the declare ether one of them the winner. so Jill Stein it is.

This is a binary decision, simply put whether we like it or not. You may look at it as a vote against the worst rather than a vote for the lesser of two evils.
Mathematically speaking, any other vote for a third party or write in candidate is equivelant to throwing away your vote and giving the other side a half vote. It serves no purpose except to allow you to say "well I didn't vote for him/her"
It allows you to appear to have morally met all the requirements that assuage your guilt and ease your conscience. But it's a lie based in denial.
The truth of it is no matter how you characterize it you are voting for one candidate or the other even if you vote "other other" or abstain.

Seriously No One hates the existing system of Democrat/Republican Parties that are totally controlled by "K" Street and Lobbyist MONEY however, we need to be real here... the third parties may have a chance of getting into an office locally in a particular county or even maybe a state but not Nationally. The numbers just are NOT there! Therefore you would be throwing away a vote or in the case of the current presidential campaign, your vote for no one would be sure to get Hillary Elected.....! Not a Good Outcome!

Voting for third party means voting for Donald Trump ans I could never do that. As much as I would prefer to have another Democratic Party candidate this out of the question now. This is a binary decision. I will go with Hillary Clinton every time over Donald Trump.

Each and every vote does count. If you feel that you are throwing away your vote by voting a 3rd party, don't! It is *our* responsibility to fix this great nation of ours. Get involved in the Convention of States, vote for the candidate that most closely supports your values *AND* our country's values/principles.

Imagine this November if we all voted according to principles (not the least of 2 evils). Yes, HRC or DT will probably end up in office, but a clear message will be sent to all political parties that their time is drawing to a close. If the Dems or Reps win *AND* we vote correctly, they will know that their support base has shrunk to an all time low.

The correct answer for me is "I already vote third party when the person aligns more closely than any other person in the running."

America will never escape the de facto two party system that the Founding Fathers did not want unless we vote for the candidate we deem best qualified rather than rationalizing our way into only voting red or blue. This election is not about choosing the lesser of two evils like the last election. This time, both red and blue are equally wrong choices in my book, so I will definitely vote third party.

I am a liberal/libertarian. I know labels aren't the best way to say your beliefs, but I am a centrist who can look at all issues and see the black and white issues and accept what is best. On the grey areas where both sides are technically not wrong, I tend to side with liberal ideology. The military opened my eyes to threats and growing up poor opened my eyes to other threats. Although I align with with Gary Johnson on more things than I do Trump or Hillary, I am not accepting of the libertarian parties stance on immigration. Immigration is number 1 on my list and I wish it wasn't. I want to vote libertarian but they stand in opposition to what I honestly believe is best for our country at the moment. We have too many poor people to allow immigrants access to our country to take welfare benefits and jobs. I've seen Germany, Sweden, and England. I don't want that here and I think both the democrats and libertarian party stand in opposition to keeping the wrong UNSKILLED POOR and or terrorists out of our country. I understand this is a grey area and probably the only grey area I am conservative on, but it's the most important to me.
