I excelled in the military.
I was a Squad Leader and I ultimately became a Sports Director.
Unfortunately, I was finally (honorably) discharged with a 100% service-connected disability: mental illness/stress disorder. I did well as both a sailor and a soldier. I used my creativity toward problem solving and leadership, and it worked out well. Conversely, now I use my military experience in all aspects of my artwork. They have a different look on the way things are seen by others. I say that as a guy that could not understand a color wheel when trying to pick out house paint.

My company manufactures guns for a living. Our shop foreman is a sculptor. He makes some amazing things that are not only practical, but look great too. My point is there are so many alternative canvases out there now that are nontraditional yet are still art. It all makes it way into our society and we benefit from it. Response by SGT William Howell made Sep 23 at 2015 7:10 AM 2015-09-23T07:10:47-04:00 2015-09-23T07:10:47-04:00 2015-09-22T18:37:43-04:00
