I hope to never live to see another election like this ever. I am really embarrassed about how not only the candidates act but also the public. While I will still vote on funding items for schools, parks, and things of that nature I will not be voting in the Presidential election. Is anyone else feeling like this? But you have to find the good in the bad. We have a "candidate" who is showing how fake the process really is, how fake the candidates are, and how little power the leaders of a party turn out to be. It got so bad that when we had congressmen visiting our site we had to scrub the status boards and post realistic looking but false information. We could not show them anything that we would not willingly show the enemy - because that is where it was going to be leaked. Even by our elected representatives.

But in such toxic political atmospheres our votes are especially important. The duty of a citizen, like the duty of a soldier, is not always pleasant, but it is always critically important.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
- Edmund Burke Response by Capt Seid Waddell made Mar 14 at 2016 11:56 AM 2016-03-14T11:56:03-04:00 2016-03-14T11:56:03-04:00 CSM Charles Hayden 1378400

If you can't vote, you can't complain! I will for the local and candidates, but as far as putting someone in the White House, I'm thinking no. There just happens to be no candidate that aligns with my views enough, that appears the least be presidential, and that consistent enough in standing up for what they believe. Yeah, I know a 100% match is pretty much impossible, but there's not a single one with even a 50% match.
I used to believe that "if you don't vote, you don't have a right to complain." I did away with that thought when I held my nose tightly and voted McCain. Quite frankly, evil is evil; even the lesser one is still evil and tired of voting for evil. Me not voting IS my voice and my free choice. Call it a protest of the system, a protest of the candidates, whatever, but by me not voting, that's my way of saying I find the choices so repugnant that it's like asking if I prefer Cyanide or Sarin gas to go with my morning coffee. I think the line, "if you don't vote, you don't have a right to complain." Applies more to the people who are simply to lazy to get out and vote... and we know there are millions of those. But if you have a solid history of voting and decide that this time around it's too much trash to even bother pushing a button, I don't think it applies.
