Are you treated like IET Soldiers during Civil Affairs (38B) AIT?

I am currently active duty, I’m on my way to reclassing to 38B. I’m interested in the restrictions during my AIT, regarding family , off post privileges, vehicles etc..

Did you already go through the assessment and selection? If no I will worry about getting select it first, if you already got selected to attend MOS phase them you and your family will PCS to Ft. Bragg and everything will be like in any other PCS; PT, Class and going home to your family. Hopefully this helps you.

You are pretty restricted during selection.
MOS phase you have a fair amount of free time until you go to Camp McCall for lanes training.

To the best of my knowledge, you will be treated somewhere between IET Soldiers and adults. Don't recall hearing a whole lot from my new Soldiers about off post activities but they don't like to say a whole lot around the CSM. LOL

AIT? AIT is for the USACAPOC guys. You are heading to the Q-course, most of which will be held in Bank Hall and the new building they built by FORSCOM. If you are unaccompanied I'm pretty sure you are in the barracks. Far as I can remember, you are pretty much left to your own devices once training is complete, except for the known off limit establishments.

It has been quite a while since I reclassed, however as for treatment like an AIT Student fresh from Basic. That wasn't the case. We were responsible to be on schedule and in place for assigned tasks. The school then (1990's) was a TDY program and we stayed in WWII era barracks we had to maintain to standards. We were afforded a few options for movement to class, Gov't provided transportation (Back of a truck) or POV to the School House. As for down time, it was ours to work within, prep for classes, uniforms, and related tasks in addition to a few recreational activities.
Those of us who Reclassified to the 38 Series, had some info going in from our units as to standards and expectations. Your Personnel and Training Sections should have similar available for you.
My 201 file reads stranger than fiction...

If you are active duty or reserve officer CA, you’ll go through CA QC, which is a bit tougher than the reserve enlisted reclass. If you’re going enlisted CA, you need to pass 4 written exams, and the exercises are pretty much no fail role playing FTXs.
As long as you pass, and follow the rules they set down, you have the freedom to do what you want in your down time. Best to network, have a good time, and pass your exams.

From what I hear about the officer/ Active CA, don’t be a know-it-all, jerk or you’ll get peered out.

If you are reserve, reclassing to AIT, I assume so. However, if you are an active duty NCO (which I assume) you will be a student at the Special Warfare School and pretty much be living a normal life as if you were anywhere else. I went through 10 years ago, though.
