He said he was taking a survey of high school seniors and their plans after graduation. I know now that this means that he hadn’t made quota so he was having to cold call a list. I didn’t know that then. But I said, “I am joining the Marine Corps as soon as I turn 18.” He said, “Shit buddy! We can make you a better deal than they can!” I went down to the post office building and talked to them, but I had no intention of joining the bleeping Army. I left their office and went around the corner to the Marine recruiters. Master Gunnery Sergeant Beatty was there. He was dressed in immaculate winter service bravos. And he had a swagger stick, which I thought was so cool. I think this is when he told me I could be a tanker, which, like everything a recruiter ever said, was a lie.Response by Capt Walter Miller made Dec 26 at 2014 11:11 AM2014-12-26T11:11:59-05:002014-12-26T11:11:59-05:00Capt Walter Miller387119<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Edited.Response by Capt Walter Miller made Dec 26 at 2014 11:31 AM2014-12-26T11:31:20-05:002014-12-26T11:31:20-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member387583<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I do believe that they used the easiest questions on the ASVAB for this one.
