However that discretion ends when PT is over. I don't think anyone will gig you for walking from your driveway to your door without it but still should follow regs.Response by SPC David Willis made Dec 8 at 2017 2:48 PM2017-12-08T14:48:03-05:002017-12-08T14:48:03-05:00Cpl Justin Goolsby3156080

Well you shouldn't really be doing PT in your Duty Uniform. You should change into PT clothes. But if you are doing squadron PT with a specific uniform of the day, then that's what you should be wearing.

Should you wear a cover when walking from your car to your home, of course. Perception is reality in our line of work and if someone drives by you looking like a bag of ass, than the perception is you're a bag of ass. It doesn't matter if you are at work or at home. You represent your uniform 24/7, not just when you clock in at work.Response by Cpl Justin Goolsby made Dec 8 at 2017 4:22 PM2017-12-08T16:22:12-05:002017-12-08T16:22:12-05:00LTC Stephen C.3156087

SPC Private RallyPoint Member, there was a time when the Class C uniform (generally minus the shirt and headgear) was the PT uniform. While in formation, the shirt was removed, neatly folded and placed on the ground with the headgear on top.
I would think that something like that is still appropriate.Response by LTC Stephen C. made Dec 8 at 2017 4:26 PM2017-12-08T16:26:09-05:002017-12-08T16:26:09-05:00CH (COL) Geoff Bailey3156765

SPC Private RallyPoint Member the best places to check for Army uniform questions I order of precedence are:

AR 670-1
DA PAM 670-1
Unit policy

Wearing the uniform correctly is a sign of professionalism and impacts public perception as well as your fellow Soldiers’ perception.

All documents for the Army can.
