There are some reports that the FBI will recommend not charging Hillary for mishandling classified documents. It was the topic du jour yesterday on all the TV Talk Shows and the official announcement will be made before the July 25 start for the Democratic Convention. So be prepared for her to be cleared of all wrongdoing, but it is NOT official yet.. And this could all change but I don't think so..

I'm OK if she is not indicted, and I'm OK if she is. I am not willing to casually assume that all the agents in the FBI and the FBI director will disregard rheir own oaths and professionalism for political purposes. I believe their report will show where the facts and evidence led them and their conclusions will be appropriate to the evidence.

Of course, that will never be enough for the right wingers. If Hillary is not indicted, they will immediately impune the integrity of all those law enforcement professionals. They have convinced themselves she must be guilty, based upon nithing more than leaks and rumors. For example, they ignore the very important distinction between whether the material in question was marked classified or not, or whether it was considered unclassified at the time, and was determined to be classified years later. Those are significant facts that completely alter the offense. Yet you hear it all the time from the right wingers "she's guilty because they found classified material on the server".

No one knows what the FBI has actually found or the details of the material and when it was classified. If the facts show she is guilty, then she should be held accountable in the same manner others have been. If not, she should be cleared. But in the end, the facts won't matter to the Hillary haters. They will manufacture their own version of the facts, in the same manner the Obama birthers refused to accept the facts. They will call for more investigations and never accept the conclusion.

The issue with Indicting someone is not a case of whether they are guilty, but whether they can be proven guilty and whether they can receive a fair trial.

It is entirely possible that there is "not enough evidence" to prove CRIMINAL INTENT as opposed to NEGLIGENCE. Those two are worlds apart when it comes to charging someone with a felony and justifying the expense.

Additionally, if the FBI does not believe they can get a conviction with the evidence they have available, what is the point of going through the process? It becomes a waste of taxpayer money (beyond what has already been spent). It is no longer about Justice, it is simply a cost/benefit equation using dollars.

Add in whether the defendant can actually receive a fair trial, and the complexities spin out of control. Even if indicted, she has the option to plea out, or STALL for several years during additional discovery phases. It would have limited effect (and possibly even positive) on this election cycle as it could be spun that she is the underdog fighting a system trying to keep her down.

The information already made public makes it clear that Hillary mishandled highly classified documents and exposed them to being compromised on an unsecured and unauthorized server. This should result in an indictment and a conviction if the law is followed by our top law enforcement officials and our CINC.

It's been mentioned many times about "intent". Did she intend to do this, or was this a situation borne of ignorance and self-importance? Any other person (Gen Patreaus comes to mind) would have had an FBI SWAT team swoop down on their home, confiscate EVERY piece of equipment (not ask for it to be given up AFTER they had a chance to scrub it!) and EVERYONE involved would have been taken into custody. Next, there would have been a 'Damage Assessment' (NO ONE to date has even mentioned one being done) conducted to conclude the EXTENT and reach of Damage to National Security.
I truly believe the American People (most vets and patriots) are so pissed off with this that if she is indicted and summarily pardoned or NOT indicted at all, this will NOT end well.

Just finished Crisis of Character. Okay read. Goes fast. The funny part is that the things the Clintons did/do are so horrible in the context of US history and the WH. I tried to chase down the source CNN & MSNBC used for their claim that Hillary will not be indicted.
The best I could learn was that Even Perez; a CNN political reporter. got a tip from his producer who said he was told by government insiders that Hillary will not be indicted. And MSNBC journalists picked up with this CNN producer's tip to Even Perez and ran with it.
So who can say how solid this story is ??

But CNN & MSNBC are staying to it as far as I know..

Director Comey is a good man. I believe he himself should run for president at some point. He is 100% for the law and the law only. We need more people like him in the government. While I had thought it would come down to is the DOJ, Lynch has already stated she will take the FBI's recommendation. Chalk her little Bill meet-up mishap for that. I hope she holds to her word.

An investigation that lasts this long is not a good thing for any individual. The FBI does one thing and one thing only. Criminal investigations. And I suspect they would not be wasting valuable resources on this if it did not merit an indictment.

This really means that there is only one man that can stop this. And we all know at what level he sits.

I am mostly just saddened by it. I want to believe in the Rule of Law in America, that everyone should get equal treatment before the law. I know that's naiive, but because this case includes violations which do NOT require intent, I do not see how there would be insufficient evidence to hold a trial. There need not be sufficient evidence to assure a conviction...the indictment or information must be a plain, concise, and definite written statement of the essential facts constituting the offense charged and must be signed by an attorney for the government.

I'm ok as long as she understands the impact she will have on the morale of federal government employees. I acknowledge this will be another "thing," I will have to deal with at my level with my subordinates. If fundamentally does not change how I will run my organization. Can't belive the FBI is NOT recommending charges against Hillary for here mishandling of classified info-I'll bet Gen Petreus is kicking himself for pleading guilty to one charge of delivering classified info to someone with a clearance but no need to know! Also whats this say about Major Jason Brezeler who was kicked out of the Marine Corps for one count of delivering classified info over an unclassified computer? Trump is right on one thing the system is rigged! Guess you need to be Hillary or and undocumented immigrant to get away with what should be a felony!!

Sure as long as every military member of federal employee who lost their clearance for the same or less is reinstated and those who lost their jobs for the same receive back pay. If not then we just reinforce the feeling that there are rules for us and another set for them.

No, I'm not. As someone whose entire career revolved around handling classified material, I can't believe how careless she could be with handling classified information. If I had done anything like what she did, I would have been kicked out of the Navy and possibly spent some time in jail. He conduct is inexcusable.

Let's face it, any day two prosecutor can get an indictment on a pickle for being a potato chip, the real crux of the situation is sustaining a conviction which is much more difficult. This "investigation" has trudged on too long just like "Whitewater". Oh yeah, she got out of that one too! When political hacks are charged with investigating political hacks, it should come as no surprise that they find nothing to substantiate criminal charges. The mere fact that Chelsea had access to those servers without a security clearance should have been enough. General Patraeus was vilified, charged, and disgraced for far less than the transgressions committed by Hilary in her storied career of american political scandals.

No I am not ok with the decision, I believe it was politically motivated but they could not exonerate her totally. I believe that the comments the FBI made is going to hurt her chances on becoming president. What I don't understand is how she can have any type of clearance at all after this. Shouldn't being qualified to hold a clearance be a prerequisite for the President of the United States, wouldn't any other person be striped of that privilege if they did what she knowingly did. I just don't get it.

There's one other thing that I'd like to say. If what Hillary did isn't a crime, then David Petraeus deserves a MAJOR apology and to have the conviction (for similar actions related to handling classified material) expunged.

Simple answer NO. She violated the spirit and intent of the law. Had I done the same things she did, I would now be indited and most likely getting ready for a 10 year stay at either Leavenworth or Marion Illinois. There is no "intent" limitation to mishandling classified documents, you either did or you didn't, that the bar.

Having worked with classified information my whole career, I knew well the rules, we were briefed on the rules, we were audited to the rules. Bottom line, she broke the law, and should be held accountable for it. Ms Clinton had a staff who some were permanent state employees thus they knew the rules as well and were culpable in not speaking up in the beginning.

No! This is another case of double standards pertaining to the elites versus the average Joe. I recently read an article about a marine major who was dismissed from the service because he failed to delete one document from his personal computer when he left the middle east. He was later contacted with an emergency message from those he served with about a corrupt Afgani Police Chief. They wanted to know what he had done with the file that pertained to this guy. He searched his computer and found the file. Because the Afgan in question was considered a threat to US Forces the major forwarded the file over an unsecure system. He then reported what he had done to his commanding officer the next morning along with the reason he did it. As a result he was considered unfit for military service and was forced to leave the Marine Corps. Now we have Hillary Clinton. Who had hundreds of message on her private server, at least 6 of which were top secret. She lied about the use of her private server use, classified documents, and the illegal deletion of several documents and emails to Congress and the FBI. The exact numbers of how many were deleted are not known but they could run in the hundreds. Now what happens to her? Absolutely nothing. Another free ride for the Clintons. When will it stop? Why is she not being indicted. Why is she being allowed to continue to run for the Presidency of the United States? Come on people. Stand up. Voice your concerns. Use the upcoming election to vote someone into office that we can trust. I know you believe me to be a right wing nut. But let me clarify one thing. I do not think we can trust either Clinton or Trump. I believe they are both dangerous. I feel that we should try to find some candidates who we believe can do an honest job for us and use the write in vote to elect them. Thank you for allowing me to express myself.

I can live with Mrs Clinton not being indicted for using a private e-mail server. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being an important campaign issue, this is about a 1. Military members routinely use private e-mail from work computers. They routinely insert thumb drives into government computers, infecting them with a number of things. Being technologically ignorant is unfortunate, but it's not against the law. What we need to be worry about are those issues that have completely slipped below the horizon during this campaign. Social Security, Medicare, social safety nets, the military retirement benefits, TRICARE and TRICARE for Life. Let's move on.

When I was in the military, most civilians first and middle names were God Da#n. Most of our elected and appointed leaders have been fast and loose when it came down to classified data. Ambassadors were notorious for passing on information to their subordinates. Heck even Bush was accused of deleting emails back in 2007. So no I am not surprised.

I think anyone still worried about a senior government official and her e-mail needs to find something better to do. Bottom line, Ms Clinton didn't do anything most government officials do --- and I submit that the Clinton server was more secure in the basement of the Clinton home that government servers are being watched over by the home of Mr. Snowden and the latest spy. I dug up what is perhaps the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s emails.

Ambassador Stevens was sent to Benghazi in order to retrieve US made Stinger missiles supplied to Ansar al Sharia without Congressional oversight or permission. Hillary brokered the deal through Stevens and a private arms dealer named Marc Turi. This is only now become a news story on Oct 6, 2016. Then some of the shoulder fired missiles ended up in Afghanistan used against our own military. On July 25, 2012 a Chinook helicopter was taken down by one of these Stingers, but the Taliban didn't properly arm the missile therefore the Chinook didn't explode, but was forced to land anyway.

An ordnance team recovered the serial number off the Stinger missile, which led back to a cache of Stingers being kept in Qatar by the CIA. Obama and Hillary were now in full panic mode and Stevens was sent in to retrieve the rest of the Stingers. This was a "do-or-die" mission, which explains the stand down orders given to multiple special OPS teams, Army, Navy, etc. It was the State Department; not the CIA that supplied weapons to our enemies. Perhaps this is why no military aircraft were called because the administration highly suspected/knew our enemies had these US made Stingers.

Isn’t it interesting that the Justice Department has recently (Oct 2016) dropped the charges against the arms dealer; Marc Turi who sold weapons to Libyan rebels, and was prepared to defend himself by exposing Hillary Clinton's alleged role. The trial was scheduled to begin on November 8th - Election Day. Lawyers for Marc Turi, claimed the weapons shipments were part of a U.S. government sanctioned initiative to arm Libyan rebels fighting then Libyan President Moammar Qadhafi.

Obama threw Gen. Petraeus under the bus after he refused to testify that this was all about a spontaneous uprising due to a YouTube video. Obama and Hillary committed treason...and this is what this investigation is all about. The Clinton Foundation data is on her private server, along with host of email evidence will lead to Benghazi and the arms deal with the Libyan rebels.

In addition, the Taliban knew that this administration aided and abetted the enemy without Congressional approval when Boehner created the Benghazi Select Committee, and the Taliban began pushing the Obama Administration for the release of five Taliban Generals. Bowe Bergdahl was just a pawn...everyone KNEW he was a traitor.

The bottom line is: we likely have corruption at the highest level of government. We have a woman now running for POTUS who is a serial liar, perjured herself multiple times throughout her career as a public servant, and is poised to become our next POTUS.

Please, someone prove to me and others this is NOT true…otherwise we are in a heap of trouble.

NO! NO! NO! but Sad to say the laws pertain to the lower class. She is upper class, I believe she broke the law on purpose to hide shady dealings for power and money but there is enough shady dealings among all the upper class in DC that they cover for each other. It is above my pay grade. I voiced my opinion to my peers, my senate and house representatives and will not vote for her but she will probably be elected anyway through a corrupt system with 20-30% of her votes from dead or illegal people. either way no matter who is in DC Jesus is still King. As of right now I still think we have the best system in the world, as flawed as it is.
