It just never made the "to do" list. One thing I do all the time is light the smoking lamp on my front porch. It's a long Navy tradition stemming from the high fire hazard aboard wooden ships. Crew could light their pipes from it when authorized. Any personally owned fire starting stuff was dealt with harshly. So to me, I see that as the visible reminder of my shipmates while I relax and reflect over cognac and cigars. It isn't the style of typical smoking lamps but rather a 15" Fresnel Lens anchor light made in Rotterdam. It does the job and then some. And yes, I've lit my cigar with it just to know I can. We all express ourselves in different ways. I've always been more subtle than most. There isn't a Seabee Museum Annex on my living room wall. I didn't have an I love me wall in my office. I only wear a camo cover on Memorial and Veterans Day. Bottom line: God bless those that fly the flag!Response by CAPT Kevin B. made Jun 14 at 2016 6:57 PM2016-06-14T18:57:10-04:002016-06-14T18:57:10-04:00SP5 Mark Kuzinski1629486<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Thank you for your post and reminder <a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="364267" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/364267-maj-kim-patterson">Maj Kim Patterson</a>!Response by SP5 Mark Kuzinski made Jun 14 at 2016 7:12 PM2016-06-14T19:12:59-04:002016-06-14T19:12:59-04:00SFC Stephen King1629614<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><a class="dark-link bold-link" role="profile-hover" data-qtip-container="body" data-id="364267" data-source-page-controller="question_response_contents" href="/profiles/364267-maj-kim-patterson">Maj Kim Patterson</a> everydayResponse by SFC Stephen King made Jun 14 at 2016 7:44 PM2016-06-14T19:44:39-04:002016-06-14T19:44:39-04:00CW4 Guy Butler1629653<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Nope; currently at a rented condo on vacation.Response by CW4 Guy Butler made Jun 14 at 2016 7:55 PM2016-06-14T19:55:32-04:002016-06-14T19:55:32-04:00SPC Kirk Gilles1629882<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I used to get the goosebumps/chills during flag raisings, ceremonies, the Anthem.
