Good article. I'm going through this myself (trying to change career fields).

Luckily I do have experience in the field I'm applying for and edited my resume to reflect that experience. Hopefully it works!

Good stuff. Not sure if I want to stay IT when I do retire, so I have attained Homeland Security certifications and am working on a Management certification. Not saying I'll do either, but it doesn't hurt to diversify!
