Just as Brennan's revoked clearance was released this week to try to deflect from Omarosa'a book release, this is a clear weaponization of security clearances as part of a PR campaign. One more example of how little thought the Trump administration gives to national security and how much it treats the WH like a reality TV show.<br />How do military personnel feel about this and other examples of a seeming disregard for national security issues?Response by Angela Benedict made Aug 17 at 2018 9:47 PM2018-08-17T21:47:37-04:002018-08-17T21:47:37-04:00CPT(P) Private RallyPoint Member3888973<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>False choice. I don't think violence is good, but I'm ready to use it to solve problems (as are most here). Likewise, I knew who Donald Trump was when I voted for him, and have no personal responsibility to defend or apologize for what he says or does now, in the past or in the future. But he sure is doing what I want to see done, and succeeding beyond what I thought he would. McRaven points out that the world thinks less of us now--who cares? They have never been our friends. They smile at us and shake hands to get what they want, and we gave it to them. Prior to Trump, were the Europeans saying that zero tariffs on the table? Nope. Were the Chinese trying to figure out how to run their economy without a pipeline of new stolen tech? Nope. The list goes on. Unfortunately, men like McRaven don't accomplish what Trump does.Response by CPT(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 17 at 2018 10:13 PM2018-08-17T22:13:54-04:002018-08-17T22:13:54-04:00SFC Michael Hasbun3889822<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Oh gee, the Special Forces war hero with decades of geopolitical experience or the draft dodger.... To have so many high level people turn against this presidency, including the 60 plus people who have signed a petition letter in support of Brennan - it is really turning against a president who doesn't value or have the ability to form a relationship with his own intelligence community or military for that matter. Remember how easily he made a decision on cancelling South Korean war exercises without notifying much less consulting his own military leadership. This loose canon should not be Commander in Chief. How remarkable to have someone of McRaven's standing, state publically that wants his name to be added to the list of men and women speaking up against the presidency - even though consequences may be forthcoming. This is a strong position and public charge against Trump that must act as a wake up call, followed up by consequences now for Trump including resignation or impeachment. McRaven is known as a courageous, straight-shooting person, who dedicated his life to selfless service and is a true Patriot. This question; Trump of McRaven is really a rally cry for a new level of truth and competency. McRaven all the way.Response by Angela Benedict made Aug 18 at 2018 11:13 AM2018-08-18T11:13:28-04:002018-08-18T11:13:28-04:00CWO3 Private RallyPoint Member3890461<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm behind the US and US Constitution. Besides me. That leaves an overwhelming group of people who are being very quiet and I am wondering if that is a demonstration of the silence/silencing that is happening generally regarding the opposition to the Trump presidency. Over 1500 people is more of a sample group then some of the polls being televised right now in the mainstream media. It isn't lack of interest. Is it lack of comfort to public dissent? Often I have published political articles and get a quick and furious backlash. The quiet is very interesting on this.Response by Angela Benedict made Aug 19 at 2018 8:34 PM2018-08-19T20:34:19-04:002018-08-19T20:34:19-04:002018-08-17T13:04:23-04:00
