The impact that the top 1% volume users have on the larger population is very dramatic. <br /><br />Honestly, MOST people us between ~1.25 and ~2.5 GB per month of mobile data. Key word: mobile. If you're using the hotspot function as your primary wireless, it's not being used as designed.<br /><br />That said, I don't think there are very many good reasons to remain on postpaid/contract at this point. <br />Even without plugging my company, I recommend looking very seriously at non-contract options. They typically offer the same level of service at considerably lower cost, and offer in many cases some real cool benefits (like 100% Veteran-Staffed member care, for one!) That is why they eliminated unlimited data plan. But the existing unlimited data customer still hold on to it. So the only way to "force" them out of unlimited is to restrict the speed to unlimited user.
