Are we pushing our personnel and resources to hard in regards to our committments worldwide? From the eastern Pacific two navy planes collide shortly after take-off from the Carl Vinson

With the rash of equipment failures lately, is it time for a safety stand-down? Is it time for new equipment? Or is it just Miller Time?

What can we do now to maintain an alert and ready fighting force?

Rescuers end ocean search for Navy fighter pilot

Pentagon officials say two U.S. Navy jets have crashed into the western Pacific Ocean and that one pilot was rescued and a search is on for the other.

With all of the commitment and on running actions I cannot imagine the abuse to equipment that has accumulated. I'm sure the regular PM schedules have gone out the window. I would like to see the "deadlined" records for equipment. This level of push has to start costing some lives from equipment failure alone.

I recently reviewed some declassified docs from my Company in 1968 RVN. I was a bit surprised to see our entire platoon deadlined for about 3 months. We were still in the field operating, we were just doing it with marginal and wrecked shit. I'm sure it is even worse now.
