Are we each doing our best to uphold the Commander's Intent of the mission of Rallypoint?

Fellow RallyPointers,

I'm posting this question as a fellow member and nothing more. I've been concerned over what appears to be some discord on the site recently. There seems to be some discontent from both sides - staff/admins and members - over how admins are maintaining the site, the quality and relevance of discussions and responses, what is being tagged, moved or deleted, etc. I've been on the site for some time now and like many, feel that RP is a breakthrough in how military members past and present can communicate, interact, share and socialize.

MAJ Weiss and CPT Kletzing had a vision that is today RallyPoint. IMHO, it is our duty as members to insure that we maintain their commander's Intent that this site was founded on. I simply ask that each of us review: http://rly.pt/RP3-1 and insure that what we are posting and why we are posting it is in alignment with this policy.

I'll be the first to admit I've posted some off the wall discussions so I try not to judge people too critically on their posts and responses. I also try to use my admin authority fairly for the betterment of the site. I hate to see folks get upset or want to leave over a disagreement on policy or a perceived slight. This site means a lot to a great many people and we all use it in our own way to get and share information. Let's keep it going the way our "founding fathers" envisioned it.

I think I stick to current events and asking questions between the services that I assume others are also curious about. There are many nuances that we don't know why they are there or what purpose they serve. I have learned quite a bit about my Army brother in arms and intend to tee off on the Air Force next.

MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca - Major; I tend to post questions/articles on things which make me say "Hmmmm?" - even though I may not actually agree with what the link says - on the basis of "Well, at least that made me think about it in a new way.".

On the other hand, I don't dispute any merging, deletion, or amendment of my posts by the RP staff.
