Are we doing enough to preserve our aquatic ecosystems both marine and freshwater?

Marine ecosystems cover approximately 71% of the Earth's surface and contain approximately 97% of the planet's water. They generate a whopping 32% of the world's net primary production. Preservation of our Aquatic ecosystems both marine and freshwater. I am an advocate of wildlife preservation specifically aquatic wildlife within marine ecosystems. Are we contributing enough to preserve our aquatic ecosystems?

Probably not but 99% of the World's population have little, or no knowledge, of the World's marine ecosystem. I think we should all have interest in the other 2/3 of the World, but I think there is a whole lot we needed to be concerned about on 1/3 we do live on too?
