Are universities legally responsible to defer your admission status if you're deploying? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/are-universities-legally-responsible-to-defer-your-admission-status-if-you-re-deploying <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m deploying in June (thank you all who shared valuable info on my last question), and I have just been admitted to CSU LA as a transfer student. I spoke with their veteran&#39;s office, as well as admissions, and they said they cannot defer my seat, even though they used to. This does not sit very well, as it seems to me they are not sure of the answer and they rather have me reapply. I couldn&#39;t find much information on their website, however, I have heard that there are some exceptions in situations like this. Has anyone experienced something similar, and course of action was taken? Also, all tips and pieces of information are appreciated. I was told that I missed the enrollment deadline as I returned from Desert Storm. I asked to talk to the dean of student affairs and he gave me permission to enroll late. Get everyone on board the conversation. From my experience you will have a half dozen or more offices all with overlapping areas of responsibility when it comes to classes, admissions, veteran issues and etc. What happens is you ask a question and get a quick answer from somebody shutting you down later to find out that information was incorrect and that person was either misinformed, new or some combination of the two. Just escalate the issue and keep looking for someone else above that station. Generally the tier 1 people can&#39;t answer questions that have any special circumstances or depth to them .
