Are there too many active duty Flag Officers in the U.S. Military?

Too many, think of all the money we could save on the extra perks that aren't necessary and are a prime example of fraud waste and abuse.

Yes, everyone knows it, too. We have an irregular shaped pyramid of hierarchy that has evolved over the years. While I understand the leadership and status associated with being a flag/general officer and what that gives to a specific unit/organization, the DOD needs to progressively modify this situation.

YES!!!! I see this being the slowest of all the changes. There are a lot of O-6's out there looking at the tea leaves and they are the ones who will get hurt the most by the reduction, but this is one area we really must reduce.

There has been a huge increase in the number of generals since WWII. Even in this period of service member reductions they are still creating new general billets.
