Are there time restrictions for signing back in from leave on a duty day?

My command told me that if you sign back in from leave before 1700 on a duty day that the day will not be counted and you have to return to work that same day. I've read through AR 600-8-10 as well as the post policy on leaves and passes but can't find that information anywhere.

Go with the guidance your command gives. Your leave goes through 1159hrs of the last day of your leave.

Why would you even want to sign in on a day of leave ? Get there in the morning of the next day.

unless you work night shift, it sounds like your command is basically giving you most of a day of free leave. sign back in at 1659.

If you sign in at 1500, you are no longer on leave. You will be charged .5 days of leave and will have to go in to work.

Common sense solution: don’t sign in from leave until your unit’s duty day closes, but before midnight.

Only ones I'm aware off were never sign out prior to 2359, and never sign in till 2359. Once you sign in- you are back on duty.
